scrambling for a shelter
Hais, having a out-of-the-body sort of feeling. feeling emotionless, as if nothing matters. but actually everything matter. I am just making myself not to feel them.the flat has been sold, handover date december 3. My practicum ends then, so the overlapping of dates is the first annoying thing. I have to juggle packing up (again!) and getting ready for therapy.
To be honest, i am kind of relieve to know that Year 4 students would usually be unsuccessful in their application to stay in hall. I am not ready to live this paradise just yet. homecooked food everyday, a variety of sports facilities, and of course, the privacy I get. It is ssoooooo shiok to live in such a big place yourself! my oh my.
it is highly probable that I will bunk in with my uncles family come december. (yayy, no lonely christmas this year). So the next thing to solve is housing issues for the year 2010. I have just written in to the uni, hopefully they will make an exception and give me approval in advance.
other than accomodation, i am really lucky that other things are going on smoothly in my life. :) go girl, a few more months to go!

korea, summer 2009
BOO! finally i am finally updating on whats going on in my life in korea. super jaded from the past week of activities. have been sleeping at 12 plus for most of the days! now that i've kinda settled down in my classes, done my homework for the day, and feeling positive about my test today, i shall blog :)so the classes i'm taking officially are abnormal psychology and developmental psychology. abnormal psychology talks about mental disorder while developmental psychology is about the growth of a human being, physically, cognitively, psychologically, socially, etc ... from birth till death. yes, PBL of Year One all over again. but hey, at least i'm getting proper lectures this time round.
and as for the class that i'm taking unofficially, its called 20th century American Culture. sounds interesting right :) Its unofficial, cos I did not register for this class, but I attend it everyday nevertheless. I actually spent more time preparing for this unofficial class than my psychology classes!
We are going over this novel call ‘The Great Gatsby’ this week, and I’m coming across literature terms such as themes, motifs and symbols, words which I’ve not used for a very very long time! And just yesterday, we gone throught 3 famous poems written about WWI, one of which is Wilfred Owen’s Dulce et Decorum Est. believe it or not, I can still remember sushilla’s interpretation of it back in sec 3!
Anyway, this class is pretty small, eight students in all. So everybody is very active, bouncing ideas off each other, guessing the answers to questions ranging from what woman wear in the 1920s to the definition of slang words such as flapper, speakeasy, and hootch. According to the prof’s website, he's a "cultural historian with a special interest in Hollywood cinema." Cool~
but then again, there are certainly times when I don't enjoy myself as much. Travelling in a foreign country with a group of acquaintances is tough. lots of emotional regulation needed (a term i learn in psy!). also, i'm sick of kimchi! its that sour and spicy taste day in day out. i'm also craving for meat! i need my meat! but i am not getting enough of it from each meal unless i go to the Seoul garden type of eateries. sigh.
i have yet to do any shopping. always very lazy to travel afterschool hee hee.
okay! time to sleep!

press play and close your eyes
Medley: Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What a Wonderful Worldits by aselin debison :) who is one year younger than us!
the bloody damn cheers!?
" we are the dragons.we are the champions.
like the star, in the sky
we will twinkle twinkle all the time"
my gosh! how many times do I have to listen to this!! it is like, a primary three first attempt at composing poems! gosh it is just so irritating. and they do it with such seriousness that it scares me! to me, its hilarious, but to them, its serious stuff. (hohoho) shall attempt to record a video of it. meanwhile. take a look at the video below.
At first glance, it seems quite impressive. but considering the amount of army-styled training behind it, this cheer doesn't seem much like a cheer anymore. Its nothing compared to our house cheers, where we actually had fun practising them! here, all it sounds like to me is a constant droning.
so I say....
"turn on the radio and listen to the news
cos we got to win and you got to lose
so back, back, back to your house
for we got the ??? for
BLUE HOUSE! "
(somebody pls tell me the missing word!)

a post after a long break
hello everyone :) i have touched down safely! (duh). I spent most of today unpacking. First was unpacking the luggage that I brought back from Singapore, which, amazingly, for the first time, was within the airline limit! a very proud 22.3kg. that's all I brought with me. I have hard-heartedly (is there such a word?) bade farewell to a couple of pairs of heels. It was a wise decision that was due long ago anyway; for all I had been doing was ferrying those heels to and fro hk without even wearing them much.By the time I finished unpacking all the clothes and setting up my lappie, its time for the "work-out" - lugging my remaining luggage from the amenities centre + ex-roomie's locker, both located at the bottom of sassoon road.
>yup, ex-roomie. we have broken-up. we had a terrible fight that ended in shrieks and tears. hahah just joking. for the uninformed, i am staying at the same flat as last academic year. But this time round, i've decided to hop over to the next room cos I would hate to live in the same room for another 9 months. i like new environments! :) < style="font-style: italic;">stuff was flowing out as opposed to dripping out!!! mine was like what you see on the advertisement for sanitary napkins, where they pour a test tube full of blue liquids onto the pads to show how absorbent they are. yup, you get the idea. and I guess that was a tad too much of information.
I'm in a very long-winded mood. haha. that's how its going to be, after my terribly long absence in the blogging scene. haha. so anyway, this time round, I settled down seamlessly. I did not even miss home at all. that's a vast improvement, seeing how I used to fly SIA back to hk for the past 2 years and not jetstar, solely because SIA provides in-flight entertainment and jetstar did not. This in-flight entertainment, which cost an additional SGD100 by the way, a whooping fifty percent more than what a jetstar ticket would have cost, helps with my home-sickness on the plane. I still vividly remember watching She's The Man on my very first trip to HK. stopped my tears straight-away! hhahaha.
OH!!! so evidence to prove my point of how different (and military-like) the orientation camp is over here. they actually march and stand with hands behind their back while listening to instructions! so NPCC/girl guides! its orientation, for goodness sake.
